Earth Magnetic Anomaly Grid (EMAG2)

As reflected in the name the resolution has been improved from 3 arc minute to 2 arc minute and the altitude has been reduced from 5 km to 4 km above geoid. Additional grid and trackline data have been included, both over land and the oceans. Interpolation between sparse tracklines in the oceans was improved by directional gridding and extrapolation, based on an oceanic crustal age model . The longest wavelengths (larger than 330 km) were replaced with the latest CHAMP lithospheric field model MF6.

Updated with new images and newly named surface features on several moons. The Ring Labels layer requires that vertical exaggeration be set to 1.0x. Since there isn't any elevation data for this system, that shouldn't cause any problems.

This add-on is meant to compliment the Paleomaps add-on by Withak. It is set up to download new version of itself, so that the information will remain up-to-date. The information is from the London Natural History Museum's Dino-Directory and the imagery is from the Cleveland Natural History Museum. The add-on displays icons approximately where the dinosaurs lived, based on where we find their fossils. The different colors indicate their diet: red=carnivore, green=herbivore, blue=omnivore, and gray=unknown. By clicking on an icon the Dino-Directory's page on that dinosaur will open

The Africam add-on shows the location of the Cameras from the Africam website, Africa's leading on-line wildlife viewing site. Each camera is shown by an arrow which points in the approximate direction the camera is facing, moving the mouse over an arrow gives you the cameras name and a brief description of that camera, clicking an arrow will open that cameras view in World Wind's internal browser.

The Somalia add-on is a set of topographical maps covering Somalia in 100k and 200k resolution, Vector data of Mogadishu streets and general data, and displays areas affected by flooding, in addition a few areas also have othophotos provided by DigitalGlobe. The data in this add-on was obtained by Madmappers from various sources, they then processed the data and in collaboration with SWALIM,FAO and FEF put it on servers for access by World Wind users and relief agencies.

Mogadishu Refugee Migration World Wind Add-On

This add-on is based on data gathered from the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and shows the number and types of people that have migrated away from the conflicts in Mogadishu. The locations people have moved to are identified by the red circles, larger red circles indicate over 10,000 displaced people. The lines from Mogadishu show people that have gone to one location then moved on to another location. Locations with no lines can be presumed to be direct migrations from Mogadishu. The numbers are gathered by aid groups in the region and are from March 2007.

This add-on has map layers served by MetaCarta from the public domain vmap0 (Vector Map Level 0) data. Vector Map Level 0 is an updated and improved version of the National Imagery and Mapping Agency's (NIMA) Digital Chart of the World (DCW). The VMap Level 0 database provides worldwide coverage of vector-based geospatial data which can be viewed at 1:1,000,000 scale.

OnMars add-on released

Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Observer Camera Narrow Angle (MOC_NA) composite. A 0.5 arc-second composite of more than 50,000 high resolution images of Mars, located between 75N and 75S. It is an uncontrolled mosaic, the images are placed on the global frame based on the best known location, using a simple warp. Location errors are common, but it does match MDIM and MOLA rather well. The mosaic contains more than 300GB of raw image data, and images are still being released, so this layer will be updated if possible.

Paleomaps add-on released

This add-on was made using images developed by Dr. Ron Blakey at the University of Northern Arizona.
The globes presented in this series show how Earth may have appeared over the last 600 million years (Ma). The global views were prepared from rectangular projections drawn at a resolution of 3000x1500 pixels for each of the 26 time slices (small files of the rectangular maps are also included). Topography was "cloned" from digital elevation maps of modern Earth from the USGS. Colors were adjusted to portray climate and vegetation for the given time and location. The modern Earth was also drawn in this manner using a color pallet derived from satellite images created by ARC Science of Loveland, Colorado.

Now detects the current world, loads the last selected preset for that world... or doesnt load at all if there is no .ini file for it. It will also try to insert itself just before the "Images" layer, or at least in second place - after the Starfield. So no more stars over the sky.

This add-on puts an icon at every volcano listed at the USGS VolcanoCams Around the World webpage and by clicking on the icon it should open up the webcam's webpage. Some volcanoes have multiple webcams so you may want to check out the USGS's list of webcams if you want to see more of a volcano.

The Earthquake Plug-In is a set of pulg-ins for displaying where earthquakes have happened. The first of the new earthquake plug-ins is the USGS 7-Day RSS Display, this plug-in downloads the latest USGS RSS feed for earthquakes that have hapened in the last seven days that are greater than 2.5 in magnatude. The second of the two earthquake plug-in is the USGS Historical Query Plug-In. With this plug-in you can query USGS earthquake data all the way back to 1973.
